Prototype information

Accurascale has released a new set of three HAA HOP AB MGR hopper wagons in Freight Brown livery. The models are available in a pack of three, each with a different running number: 350059, B354016, and 356335.

The models are designed for OO gauge layouts and feature a minimum radius curve of 438mm. The wagons are built to a 1:76.2 scale and weigh a minimum of 40g. The chassis is made of die-cast metal, adding weight and realism to the model.

The models feature a highly detailed interior, including rivets, framing, strapping, and accurately profiled door 'horns'. The wheels are RP25-110 profile OO gauge, with separate brake blocks in line with the tread. The buffers are sprung metal, and the couplings are dummy instanter couplings.

The models include numerous etched metal details, such as brake levers, chassis plates, and air pipes. The hopper door operating equipment is also included, along with removable Kinetic NEM coupler mounts at the correct height.

The set includes three body styles: as built, rebodied, and CDA. Each wagon type features individual differences, including different hopper door styles, canopies, and bufferbeam brake pipe configurations. The models also feature multiple wheel variants, including bolted disc brake, plain disc brake, and standard clasp brake.

The HBA and HDA models feature correct modifications to brake disc caliper operating equipment, while the CDA model features a large end air cylinder and above solebar mounted brake distributor. The models are suitable for layouts representing British Rail Blue (TOPS) period in the 1960s to 1980s.
