Dapol OO gauge model of the British Rail Class 52 “Western Dragoon”, running number D1034, in a pristine maroon livery. The locomotive measures 275 mm long, 34 mm wide and 49 mm high, with a minimum curve radius of 2 inch. It is a diesel‑powered Co‑Co with all‑wheel drive, a 5‑pole SuperCreep motor and twin brass flywheels for smooth, slow running. The model is DCC‑ready, fitted with a 21‑pin MTC decoder socket and a new PCB that provides independent directional and cab lighting.

Key features include a detailed body with etched roof fan grilles and separate handrails, cast wheels, metal sprung buffers, separately etched name and number plates, and an alternate valance for negotiating tighter radius curves. Options are available for DCC sound and for fitting an IMPERIUM1 decoder, either by the purchaser or through Dapol’s standard fitting service.

The model represents the late‑crest period of British Railways, built between 1961 and 1964, when a total of 74 of the real Class 52 locomotives were produced at Swindon and Crewe Works. The manufacturer part number is 4D‑003‑015.
