Prototype Era
Era 9 (1995 to 2004) Initial Privatisation
73967 – Caledonian Sleeper, Early
This locomotive is one of the two 73/9s that started life as a JA 73. Not that it changes the prototypes as all traces of JA were removed during rebuilding. E6006 was built at Eastleigh in November 1962 and was later renumbered to 73006 under TOPS. It was rebuilt at Brush Wabtec during 2015 and entered traffic with Caledonian sleeper the same year. Our model represents 73967 in the condition it was first adapted to work with the new Mk5 coaches with drop Dellner coupler and two-part snowploughs but still retaining 3rd rail equipment
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

Accurascale Class 73 – Caledonian (Early) – 73967 is a motorised working fan model, supplied with the manufacturer part number ACC3329. The model is presented in Caledonian livery and represents a British Rail Class 73 locomotive from the initial privatisation period.
The prototype locomotive was originally built at Eastleigh in November 1962 as JA 73 (E6006) and later renumbered 73006 under the TOPS system. In 2015 it was rebuilt by Brush Wabtec and entered service with Caledonian Sleeper the same year.
The 73967 model depicts the locomotive as it first appeared after conversion for operation with Mk5 coaches, featuring a drop Dellner coupler, two‑part snowploughs and retaining its 3rd rail equipment.
