The Accurascale SR D1479 Banana Van is a model of a Southern Railway wagon, built by the company in 1935. The model is designed to represent British Railways wagons from the Late Crest era, specifically from 1961 onwards.
The model is available in a triple pack, with three separate wagons, each with its own unique number: S50804, S50819, and S50810. The wagons are painted in the authentic BR bauxite livery with black sole bar and ironwork.
The model features a die-cast metal chassis and a plastic body, with a weight of 60g per wagon. The wheel arrangement is a 4-wheel design, with a scale length of 70mm over the headstocks and a wheelbase of 40mm. The model is designed to operate on a minimum radius of 371mm, equivalent to a Radius 1 Set-Track.
The model includes a range of detailed parts, including eroded metal, plastic, and wire components, such as handrails, grab handles, door handles, lamp brackets, vacuum and steam pipes, and more. The buffers are turned from metal and feature sprung action. The model comes equipped with NEM standard coupler pockets and narrow tension lock couplers.
An accessory bag is included, containing steam/vacuum hoses and screw couplings. The model is designed to be highly detailed and accurate, with individual lettering and codes from real wagons to ensure authenticity.
