Accurascale's SR D1478 Banana Van in BR Bauxite livery is a model of a British Railways wagon from the 1948-1961 period. The model is available as a triple pack, containing three wagons numbered S50704, S50629, and S50651.
The wagon is built to a scale length of 70mm over headstocks and features a die-cast metal chassis with a plastic body. Each wagon weighs 60g and can operate on a minimum radius curve of 371mm, meeting the requirements for Radius 1 Set-Track.
The model features three styles of wheel design, including split spoke, single spoke, and 3-hole disc, using RP25.110 chemically blackened OO gauge wheel sets. The bearings are made of blackened brass and conform to Accurascale's standards. The model also includes eroded metal, plastic, and wire detail parts, such as handrails, grab handles, and vacuum and steam pipes.
The wagons are fitted with NEM standard coupler pockets and come with narrow tension lock couplers. The model also includes individual lettering and codes from real wagons for authenticity. An accessory bag is included, containing steam/vacuum hoses and screw couplings.
The model represents the D1478 pattern of banana van, with a bauxite livery and a black sole bar and ironwork. The model is suitable for use in Era 4 and 5 layouts.
