LNER Class J70 in BR livery with early emblem and full skirts
Rapido MR‑208 is a limited‑edition OO gauge model of LNER Class J70 steam locomotive number 7126, presented in black LNER lined livery. The model is built to a pristine finish, carries the original running number 7126 and is fitted with a 6‑pin DCC socket, NEM plus tension‑lock couplings and directional lighting. It represents a 0‑6‑0T engine originally built in March 1921 by the Great Eastern Railway at Stratford, later operated by the London & North Eastern Railway until its withdrawal in March 1955 after 34 years in service. The prototype belonged to the GER C53 class, designed by James Holden, and was withdrawn in March 1955.
The model is supplied as a 500‑unit limited run for Model Rail magazine and includes a coreless motor, provision for sound, sprung buffers, buffer‑beam safety chains where appropriate, full sideplates (with optional skirts removed), two styles of central lamp iron and two nose‑end door‑catch designs. It can negotiate a minimum radius of 371 mm (first radius), and the period represented is the Big Four era (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR). The manufacturer part number is MR‑208.
