Rapido LNER Class J70 steam locomotive number 68223 is offered as a limited edition model by Model Rail Magazine. The product reference is MR‑205 and it is available through modelrailoffers.co.uk.
The model is supplied in OO gauge with a pristine finish and a black British Railways livery. It carries the running number 68223, features NEM plus tension lock couplings, a six‑pin DCC socket, directional lighting and a minimum radius curve of the first radius (371 mm). The locomotive is presented as a 0‑6‑0T steam engine and includes full skirts.
The prototype locomotive was built in June 1914 at Stratford by the Great Eastern Railway to the design of James Holden. Twelve examples were produced; they were ordered by the Great Eastern Railway, later operated by British Railways, and withdrawn in July 1955 after 41 years in service. The class was originally designated as GER C53.
