Manufacturer description
As the standard BR general purpose diesel shunter, the 08 Class became a familiar sight at major stations and freight yards. Although a large proportion of the Class have been withdrawn, sold, or scrapped, 08064 escaped destruction. The locomotive currently resides at the NRM, preserved and operational.
