Add the Class 08 'Colchester TMD' model locomotive to your diesel collection in this elegant blue livery. With sprung metal buffers and NEM tension lock couplings, this is a delightful, highly detailed model. 

Built at Crewe Works, this standard 350hp diesel electric shunter started life in November 1959 as D3760 and was allocated to Dannycraig depot at Swansea in South Wales. Under TOPS it was renumbered to 08593 and, in the 1990s, it was reallocated to Colchester where it received a retro-style red-lined BR livery with early ‘cycling lion’ emblem and its old number D3760. 

It was also named ‘Colchester TMD’ which was applied in a cursive hand-writing style. It became part of the EWS fleet and, by 2010, it was withdrawn and then stored. It was acquired by Railway Support Services at Wishaw in 2016.

Hornby BR – Class 08 – ‘Colchester TMD’ D3760 is a die‑cast model of a British Rail diesel‑electric shunter. The product carries the manufacturer part number R30507 and represents the period of initial privatisation.

The locomotive is finished in an elegant black livery, fitted with sprung metal buffers and NEM tension‑lock couplings. It is a highly detailed 7‑inch (18 cm) model suitable for addition to a diesel collection.

The prototype was built at Crewe Works as a standard 350 hp shunter, entering service in November 1959 as D3760 and allocated to Dannycraig depot at Swansea, South Wales. Under TOPS it was renumbered 08593. In the 1990s it was transferred to Colchester, received a retro‑style red‑lined BR livery with the early ‘cycling lion’ emblem and retained its original number D3760, being named ‘Colchester TMD’ in cursive script. After becoming part of the EWS fleet the locomotive was withdrawn by 2010, stored and subsequently acquired by Railway Support Services at Wishaw in 2016.
