Heljan’s model of the LMS Beyer‑Garratt No. 4986 reproduces the 2‑6‑0/0‑6‑2 locomotive in a photographic grey livery. It is a ready‑to‑run OO‑scale model with a DCC‑ready 8‑pin socket and NEM couplings, and the power is collected from the driving wheels only.
The kit is finished to a pristine standard and features a revolving coal bunker. It is capable of negotiating a minimum radius of 2nd radius (438 mm) and carries the manufacturer part number 266222. The model represents one of the six Garratts built by Beyer, Peacock & Co between 1927 and 1930 for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway.
