Heljan model of LMS 4984, a Beyer‑Garratt 2‑6‑0 locomotive, in LMS black livery with a lightly weathered finish. The model is built to OO gauge, measures 350 mm in length and runs on DCC with an eight‑pin socket, while retaining NEM couplings and sprung buffers. Directional lighting is fitted and power is collected from the driving wheels only.

The prototype was constructed by Beyer, Peacock & Co. Gorton Works between 1927 and 1930, with a total of six built for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway. Designed to replace pairs of Midland 0‑6‑0 locomotives on heavy coal drags, the Garratts also handled ironstone traffic and operated as far as York and Peterborough until they were displaced by British Railways Standard “9F” 2‑10‑0s in the late 1950s.

This model includes exterior and interior cab detailing, and is supplied by Hatton’s Model Railways. Manufacturer part number is 266214. The minimum radius curve is listed as a 2nd radius of 438 mm. The represented period is pre‑grouping, and the locomotive’s service career spanned from 1927 to 1958 in the LMS/BR London Midland Region.
