Heljan model of LMS 4982, a Beyer‑Garratt 2‑6‑0 0‑6‑2 locomotive in London, Midland & Scottish Railway black livery. The model is built to OO gauge, measures 350 mm in length and is finished in a pristine condition.

The locomotive is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket, NEM couplings, sprung buffers and power pickup from the driving wheels only. It carries the running number 4982 and features a revolving coal bunker. The model is supplied with the manufacturer part number 266215.

The prototype was built by Beyer, Peacock & Co. at Gorton Works between 1927 and 1930. Only six examples were produced and they operated in the LMS/BR London Midland Region, primarily on heavy mineral trains such as coal drags from the East Midlands to London and ironstone traffic to York and Peterborough. They remained in service until 1958 when they were superseded by British Railways Standard 9F 2‑10‑0 locomotives.

Key features include an 8‑pin DCC interface, NEM couplings, sprung buffers, detailed exterior and interior cab fittings, and a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (2nd radius). The model represents the Big Four era of British railway history.
