Dapol GWR 4300 class Mogul locomotive, model number 4S‑043‑003D, is presented in OO gauge at a scale length of 240 mm, width 34 mm and height 48 mm. The locomotive is finished in a pristine green livery and carries the running number 7301 on a smoke‑box plate. It represents the Great Western Railway design by George Churchward, built at Swindon Works between 1911 and 1932, with a total of 342 examples produced. The wheel arrangement is 2‑6‑0 and the locomotive is powered by a five‑pole motor driving the rear wheels; the centre driving wheels and front pony truck are sprung to negotiate 2nd radius (438 mm) curves.

The model is DCC fitted using a slide‑in PCB that accommodates a NEXT‑18 decoder and a no‑solder speaker connection, with electrical pick‑up on all driving wheels and on the tender wheels. Coupling is via NEM/tension‑lock, and the tender is a standard Churchward 3,500‑gallon type. Optional features include a base reflex speaker in the tender, an audio frequency filter, fire‑blow glow synchronised with sound, and Dapol’s RealDrive slow‑speed mechanism (factory fitted only).

The locomotive can be displayed with a variety of historically accurate details such as Churchward or Collett buffers, tall or lower vacuum pipes, safety‑valve covers, and lamp brackets appropriate to either GWR or British Rail periods. This model represents the Big Four era of British railways.
