Dapol OO‑gauge model of a Great Western Railway 4300 class Mogul locomotive, numbered 6385, finished in a pristine green livery with the traditional shirt‑button roundel.
The model is fitted with DCC sound via a slide‑in NEXT‑18 decoder and a no‑solder speaker connection; electrical pick‑up is provided on all driving and tender wheels except the front pony truck. The chassis is die‑cast with a five‑pole motor and a slow‑speed mechanism, and the locomotive can negotiate 2nd‑radius (438 mm) curves.
Technical details reflect the period 1911‑1932, when 342 examples were built at GWR Swindon Works and Robert Stephenson & Co. Features include optional base‑reflex speaker, fire‑blow glow synchronised with sound, and a push‑fit NEM/tension‑lock coupling that incorporates moulded electrical contacts.
The tender is a standard Churchward 3,500‑gallon type; optional period‑specific details such as buffers, vacuum pipe, safety‑valve cover and lamp brackets are available to represent the locomotive’s evolution during the Big Four era.
