The model represents a type of 20 ton mineral wagon that was used nationally in the UK during the Big Four period, which spanned the 1920s to the 1970s. These wagons were introduced as a more efficient and cost-effective way to transport coal and minerals, replacing earlier wooden bodied wagons. They featured two doors per side and an end door.

The model includes a range of features, including profiled wheels, superbly printed livery and details, and a coal or coking coal load. The NEM pockets allow for self-centring couplings, and the body and chassis are highly detailed. The wagon is designed to operate on a minimum radius curve of 1.

The Dapol Emlyn Anthracite 20 Ton Steel Mineral Wagon is a highly detailed model that will add a touch of realism to any model railway layout.
