Kerr, Stuart 'Victory' 0-6-0T Locomotive in Lined grey, IW&D 12
Planet Industrials Kerr, Stuart “Victory” 0‑6‑0T locomotive in lined green is offered as a limited‑edition model for the “Rails of Sheffield” range. It carries DCC status DCC 18, the manufacturer part number PI‑001‑C and represents the period of the British “Big Four” railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR).
The original Victory class comprised ten 0‑6‑0T locomotives built in 1917 for the Inland Waterways and Docks Department. After the war most entered service at southern ports, with six moving to colliery work, two joining the Alexandra Docks Railway, one to the Brecon and Merthyr Railway and one to Colonel Stephens’s East Kent line. A number survived in industrial use into the late 1960s, but none were preserved.
The model is in 1:76 scale for ’00’ gauge and includes a high‑torque flywheel‑driven motor with a 40:1 precision gearbox, allowing slow, smooth running. It rides on darkened RP25‑110 profile wheels, a die‑cast metal chassis and a six‑wheel electrical pickup that can negotiate a minimum R2 curve. Over 200 individual components are injection‑moulded, with a ready‑to‑run body, full cab detail, sprung buffers, correctly heighted NEM coupler pockets and etched works plates showing all ten works numbers. It is DCC ready via a NEXT18 interface and optional front steps and toolboxes are available.
