Manufacturer description

The BR Standard Mk.3 coach was introduced to traffic between 1975 and 1988, on both high speed and locomotive hauled services and quickly became a regular sight on Britain's main line services. When Virgin Trains East Coast lost the East Coast Main Line franchise, the London North Eastern Railway name was revived to run the services, with the first LNER branded train departing from Kings Cross, bound for Edinburgh on 25 June 2018.

A coach from a much-loved and historic service like LNER is an absolute must for any train collector's set. Each model measures 303mm in length.

Hornby LNER Mk3 Trailer Buffet (Coach J, 40750) is a OO gauge model in pristine condition. The coach is finished in the red and silver livery used by London North Eastern Railway, carries the running number 40750 and measures 303 mm in length. The real British Rail Standard Mk3 coach entered service between 1975 and 1988 and operated on both high‑speed and locomotive‑hauled main‑line services. After Virgin Trains East Coast lost the East Coast Main Line franchise, the LNER brand was reinstated, the first LNER‑branded train departing from Kings Cross for Edinburgh on 25 June 2018.

The model represents the current era of LNER operations and is intended for train collectors seeking a historically significant British railway coach. Its detailed finish and accurate dimensions make it a suitable addition to any OO gauge collection.
