Heljan Metropolitan Bo‑Bo electric locomotive 8, named Sherlock Holmes, is presented in London Transport maroon livery and is intended for OO gauge model railways. The model is finished to a pristine standard and carries the running number 8.
It is DCC ready, featuring a 21‑pin socket, and is equipped with NEM couplings. Power is collected from all wheels, and the locomotive can negotiate a minimum curve of 2nd radius (438 mm). The maximum speed setting corresponds to 65 mph.
The prototype was built by Metropolitan‑Vickers between 1922 and 1923, with a total production run of 20 units. It represents the Metropolitan‑Vickers Bo‑Bo electric class operated by London Transport during the period known as the Big Four (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR).
