The Heljan Metropolitan Bo-Bo electric locomotive, numbered 1, is presented in London Transport wartime grey livery and is aimed at OO gauge (1:76) model railway layouts. It reproduces a Metropolitan‑Vickers Bo-Bo electric built between 1922‑1923 for London Transport, one of only twenty examples originally produced. The kit is supplied in a pristine finish and carries the original running number.
The model is DCC ready with a 21‑pin socket and features NEM couplings, directional lighting and power pickup from all wheels. It can negotiate a minimum curve of the 2nd radius (438 mm) and is capable of a maximum speed of 65 mph when operated. The wheel arrangement is Bo-Bo and the manufacturer part number is 9002.
This locomotive represents the period of the Big Four railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR) and is classified as a Metropolitan‑Vickers Bo-Bo electric, originally operated by London Transport.
