Heljan Class 23 Baby Deltic diesel, model D5903, is presented in British Rail green livery with a late crest, full yellow end panels and a four‑character headcode.
The model is built to OO gauge, has a pristine finish and is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket. Power is collected from all wheels and it uses NEM/tension‑lock couplings. The locomotive is a diesel Bo‑Bo with a maximum speed of 75 mph, a minimum radius of 2nd radius (438 mm) and a wheel arrangement of Bo‑Bo.
The prototype was built in 1959 by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry for British Railways. Only ten units were produced. This model represents the British Rail Class 23 “Baby Deltic” in the late‑crest period.
