Accurascale's OO gauge model of the CDA China Clay wagon in ECC Blue livery is a highly detailed representation of the real-life vehicle. The model features a diecast chassis, brass bearings, and 26mm pinpoint axles for smooth running performance. The level of detail is exceptional, with crisp features such as rivets, framing, and strapping on the interior, as well as accurately profiled door 'horns'.
The model is based on the real-life wagons built by BREL at Doncaster between 1987 and 1989, and is suitable for modellers depicting the initial privatisation period. The model is designed to be flexible, allowing modellers to choose between wagons as built as CDAs from new, or those converted from HAA hoppers.
Key features of the model include RP25-110 profile OO gauge wheels with separate brake blocks, sprung metal buffers, and dummy instanter couplings. The model also features super fine plastic parts, etched metal details, and removable coupler mounts with mini-tension-lock couplers. The CDA model correctly features a large end air cylinder and above solebar mounted brake distributor, end ventilator boxes, a highly detailed roof with textured canvas cover, and chassis mounted operating handles.
