Accurascale has released a set of three OO gauge models representing British Rail's CDA China Clay wagons in ECC blue livery. The models are built to a high standard with a diecast chassis, brass bearings, and 26mm pinpoint axles for smooth running performance.
The models are designed to replicate the differences between the CDA wagons and their HAA counterparts, with features such as holes in the bodyside on one side, unique equipment at the wagon end, and a distinctive hood/canopy.
Accurascale's tooling is flexible enough to allow for the production of models that represent both as-built CDAs and HAA conversions, providing modellers with a range of options.
The models are built to a highly detailed standard, with features such as rivets, framing, strapping, and accurately profiled door 'horns' on the interior. The wheels are fitted with RP25-110 profiles and separate brake blocks, while the buffers and couplings are sprung metal.
Additional details include etched metal components, such as brake levers and chassis plates, as well as super fine plastic parts for air pipes, lamp irons, and other fittings. The models also feature removable NEM coupler mounts and mini-tension-lock couplers.
The CDA models are available in ECC blue livery and feature a range of unique details, including a large end air cylinder, brake distributor, end ventilator boxes, and a highly detailed roof with a textured canvas cover. The models are built to a scale of 1:76.2 and are designed to run on 16.5mm track with a minimum radius of 438mm.
