Manufacturer description

BR J69 68535 was from the same 1892 batch as No. 359, being originally numbered as 358 under the GER and 7358 under the LNER and was also rebuilt as R24r in 1904. Along with 19 other J69 locomotives, 7358 was transferred to the Scottish Area during 1927/28 and while 11 of those locomotives were returned to the South between 1944 and 1952, the now renumbered 68535 remained in Scotland allocated to Dundee Shed 62B, until withdrawal in August 1959.

Accurascale's BR Class J67 'Buckjumper' locomotive, number 68535, is a model of a 0-6-0 tank locomotive in British Railways black livery with the early emblem.

The model features a minimum radius curve of 2, allowing it to operate on smaller layouts, and all wheels are powered for smooth operation. The locomotive is DCC ready, with a stay alive arrangement and a 18-pin socket for easy decoder installation.

The model is built to a scale length of 110.66mm over headstocks and 36mm across the body. The chassis and boiler are made from die-cast metal, with a target weight of 260-275g. The model features a range of detailed parts, including scale width wire handrails, sand pipes, and buffer pipework.

The cab area is fully detailed, with a removable roof and moveable roof ventilator. The bunker area is also fully detailed, with eroded metal and plastic parts, such as grab handles and steps. Brass turned whistles and valves are also included, along with etched metal pre-painted numberplates and plaques.

The model features a large coreless motor, a helical gear box, and gearing that allows it to achieve a scale maximum top speed of 50mph. The factory-installed DCC sound option features two quality speakers contained in sound capsules located in the side tanks.

The model is a representation of a locomotive that was originally built in 1904, rebuilt from Class R24 between 1902 and 1921, and remained in service in Scotland until its withdrawal in August 1959.
