Era 3 (1923 to 1947) The Big Four (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR)
Introduced in 1942 for the transport of Sherman tanks, the 50T bogie Warwell wagon continued to see service after the end of the Second World War.
Our model captures it's original and designed for use - moving new Sherman tanks arriving at the West coast ports from American factories. They would travel in these special wagons - which allowed the tanks to fit within the UK loading gauge - down to the training grounds and armouries of the South.
This model also includes a die-cast Sherman tank in matching 1:76 scale.
In it's 'as shipped' form with wooden packing carton on it's rear and gun supported by a wooden stake.
