Manufacturer description

On the 1 May 1987 and as part of InterCity's 21st anniversary celebrations, BR launched their new high speed branding. The logo incorporated on the moremodern locomotives and rolling stock featured INTERCITY in italics with a Swallow logo device to symbolise grace and speed of travel.
