Manufacturer description

Once Virgin Trains obtained the franchise for the West Coast Main Line route on the 9th March 1997 they set about re-branding the locomotive and coach fleet in their very distinctive red, black with white stripes livery.

They also put in place a programme of enhancing the service on board. Subsequently they ordered new trains which would see Virgin branded Mk3a coaches re-appear in many surprising locations prior to a repaint.

Livery subject to approval from Virgin Trains.
