Hornby ScotRail Class 43 HST power cars 43021 and 43132, modelled in the Era 10 range, represent the diesel‑powered InterCity 125 High Speed Train built by BREL Crewe Works between 1975 and 1982. Both cars are painted in the Inter7City livery and carry the running numbers 43021 and 43132, each named “A New Era”. The model is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket, fitted with a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor, and uses NEM couplings with tension‑lock. Directional and interior lighting are provided, and power is picked up from all wheels. The finished length of each car is 235 mm and the minimum curve radius is the second radius (438 mm). The scale gauge is OO, and the finished appearance is described as pristine.

Historically, the prototype 43021 entered service on 9 July 1976 and 43132 on 21 July 1979. Both units received MTU power units from Brush Traction between October 2006 and September 2007, extending their operational life. On 31 August 2017 they were withdrawn from lease by First Great Western and transferred to Abellio ScotRail, where they ran in a 2 + 4 formation from Craigentinny on 1 September 2017 together with Mk 3 coaches 40207, 42047, 42207 and 44015. The cars were rebranded with vinyl graphics reading “A New Era” on the power cars and “We’re building the best railway Scotland’s ever had” on the central two coaches.
