TheĀ Manchester Ship Canal - Peckett W4 'Jaffa' is a must-have model for Peckett fans. In an irresistible shade of green, this locomotive has NEM couplings and is DCC-ready with a four-pin socket. The perfect piece for shunting model coal wagons around your layout.
History
Built in 1897 as Peckett Works No. 655, Jaffa was delivered new to the Manchester Ship Canal Company. This sturdy W4 0-4-0 saddle tank was employed on heavy shunting duties along the docks, later being renumbered as No. 12 around the outbreak of the First World War. After three decades of service, Jaffa was finally sold in 1927, leaving behind a legacy typical of Peckettās hard-working industrial locomotives.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.
