The Heljan Class 17 Clayton BR Two Tone Green D8607 model is a highly detailed representation of a British Rail Class 17 diesel locomotive. Built by Clayton and Beyer Peacock between 1962 and 1965, a total of 117 examples of this class were produced.

The model features a late crest livery and is DCC ready with an 8-pin socket. It has a length of 203mm and a minimum radius curve requirement of Radius 1. The model is finished in a pristine condition and includes features such as working lights, NEM couplings and sprung buffers.

The British Rail Class 17 was a twin-engined diesel locomotive designed to improve visibility for loco crews, but unfortunately it proved to be unreliable. It was used for light goods and passenger services and had a maximum speed of 60mph. The class was in service from 1962 to 1971 with British Rail, and later from 1972 to 1982 in industrial use.
