Class 17 BR Green D8502 with Small Yellow Panels Diesel Locomotive
Heljan’s model of the Class 17 Clayton diesel, numbered D8568, is presented in British Rail green with small yellow panels and the early British Rail crest. The locomotive is built to OO gauge, measures 220 mm in length and is finished in a pristine condition.
The model is fitted with DCC sound and includes an 8‑pin socket for digital control. It features directional lighting, power pickup from all wheels, and a NEM coupling with tension lock. The minimum curve radius is the first radius of 371 mm, and the model is capable of a maximum speed of 60 mph when operated.
The prototype was built between 1962 and 1965, with a total production run of 117 units. Heljan’s product carries the part number 1700 and represents the early crest period of British Railways.
