Dapol model number 95444 is an OO gauge replica of a British Railways banana van originally built by BR Wolverton Works between 1959 and 1960. The model carries the Great Western Railway grey livery and represents the period of the Big Four railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR). Its wheel arrangement is a 4‑wheel configuration and it is designed for a minimum curve radius of 1 unit. The manufacturer part number is 4F‑016‑009.

The prototype vans were constructed with plywood cladding and insulated bodies to allow bananas imported from the Caribbean to be shipped green and to ripen during transit. Steam‑heated versions were equipped with steam piping to enable operation in interconnected block trains.

The Dapol version reproduces the later 1950s steam‑piped design and includes the following features: moulded body detailing, profiled wheels, NEM coupling pockets with self‑centred couplings and an accurately applied GWR grey livery.
