Rapido Trains UK offer an OO‑gauge (1:76) model of the Great Western Railway Class 1000 No. 1045 “County of Kent” finished in the British Railways “What‑If” Express Passenger Blue with the early crest. The model carries DCC 21 capability, manufacturer part number 954011 and is supplied with black‑backed number and name plates and a single chimney. It is designed for operation on 2nd‑radius curves of 438 mm (approximately 17.2 in) or greater.

The locomotive features a smooth and powerful running mechanism, factory‑fitted dual speakers, an ESU 21‑pin decoder socket, MoPower stay‑alive capacitors and tender pickups. It includes a vacuum cylinder between the frames, dynamic firebox flicker with a fire‑draw effect, NEM coupler pockets, sprung parallel buffers and a museum‑quality paint finish. A speedometer drive is fitted and the model is supplied with a painted name‑plate in the detail bag for those who prefer an etched brass alternative.

The model represents a mixed‑traffic GWR County Class locomotive built between 1945 and 1947, the last of the 4‑6‑0 designs produced by the railway. No. 1045 “County of Kent” was one of thirty County locomotives and, like its siblings, was withdrawn by British Railways between 1962 and 1964, the last example (No. 1011 “County of Chester”) running its final railtour in September 1964.

Intended for OO‑gauge modellers, the Rapido model is available in several liveries, including the rail‑tour condition and a version of No. 1014 “County of Glamorgan” to reflect the ongoing Great Western Society County reconstruction project. The kit is supplied ready‑to‑run with all the listed features and is suitable for faithful recreation of post‑war British railway operation.
