Hornby LNER A4 Class, 4‑6‑2 locomotive model, reference 4468 ‘Mallard’, released as an Era 3 kit. The model is finished in pristine condition, painted in the original Garter Blue livery, and measures 291 mm in length.

It is DCC ready with an eight‑pin socket, fitted with a five‑pole skew‑wound motor and NEM couplings. Power is collected from the driving and leading wheels and the tender only. The minimum curve radius is the second radius of 438 mm.

A total of 35 A4 locomotives were produced; ‘Mallard’ was withdrawn in April 1963 after 25 years of service. The locomotive has a 4‑6‑2 wheel arrangement, a maximum speed of 90 mph and was operated by the LNER during the period known as the Big Four.
