The model's exterior has been 3D scanned to ensure accurate body contours. The operating tilt mechanism and close coupling system allow for smooth operation on curves as small as 2 (438mm).

The interior of the model features full detail, including illuminated test instrumentation. Working headlamps, tail lamps, and interior lighting are also included. The model can be operated using conventional DC or a factory-fitted ESU DCC sound decoder, which provides accurate sound recorded from archival footage. The smooth-running mechanism features dual motors and flywheels for a realistic operation.
