APT-E – The Book
The Rapido APT-E Train Pack is a model train set designed for OO gauge railways. It features two power cars, each powered by a five-pole, skew-wound motor, and two trailer cars with articulated bogies. The model is finished in a British Rail Test Livery White and Green colour scheme and has a pristine finish.
The model is representative of the British Rail period before the introduction of the TOPS system, and is part of the Rapido APT-E OO gauge collection. The train pack includes a range of features, such as a working tilt mechanism and close coupling system, which allows it to operate smoothly on curves as small as 438mm in radius.
The model also includes a range of interior details, including illuminated test instrumentation, and working headlamps, tail lamps, and interior lighting. The DCC sound version of the model features accurate sound recorded from archival footage. The mechanism is designed to run smoothly and includes dual motors and flywheels for added stability. Additionally, the model is designed for conversion to 'P4' and 'EM' gauges, making it a versatile option for modellers.
