Since it made its first appearance as R.077 in the 1978 catalogue, Hornby have produced a myriad of liveries for this quaint Great Western 0-4-0T locomotive, from the prototypical to fictional rail companies and also as commemorative issues.

Along the way it has appeared in the range as a solo item, in train sets and as a Club model and has spent longer in the Hornby range than it ever actually did in service, being condemned in September 1911 having covered 36, 458 miles working at the GWR's Swindon Works.

Hornby 2020 Collector Club Locomotive, Holden 101 Class, 0‑4‑0T – 100 is a club‑exclusive OO gauge model, 108 mm in length. It is not DCC fitted and uses a Type 7 motor. The model is presented in a commemorative special‑event livery, with a pristine finish, and carries the running number 100. Power is collected from all wheels and the minimum radius curve is the 1st radius of 371 mm. The locomotive represents the Great Western Railway 101 class, a 0‑4‑0 steam engine, and is supplied under the Hornby part number R3867.

Only one example of this version has been produced. The prototype was built in 1901, designed by W.G. Bagnall, and operated by Hornby Red. The original locomotive was condemned in September 1911 after covering 36 458 miles while working at GWR’s Swindon Works.

The model first appeared in the Hornby catalogue as R.077 in 1978 and has since been offered in numerous liveries, ranging from prototypical to fictional railway companies, as a standalone item, in train sets and as a Club model. It remains in the Hornby range longer than the original locomotive was in service.
