Manufacturer description

The prototype of this strange engine was created as a one off for experimental testing as an oil burning locomotive in 1901, intended for service on the Wrington Vale Light Railway in Somerset, but following conversion back to coal burning the locomotive ended up spending its working life, incommunicado, at Swindon railway works as a works shunter.
