Heljan’s Ruston 165DE PWM diesel locomotive (model number MR‑405A) is a limited‑edition release for Model Rail Magazine. It represents a British Rail sector‑isation era engine, carrying the BR yellow livery and the number 97 651. The model is available exclusively through Model Rail.
The locomotive is supplied in OO gauge, with a minimum curve radius of 1. It uses a Next 18‑pin DCC socket, draws power from all wheels and is fitted with NEM/tension‑lock couplings. The wheel arrangement is 0‑6‑0DE. The prototype was built by Ruston & Hornsby in 1953 and later in 1959.
