The Heljan 00 scale model represents British Rail Class 128 parcels diesel multiple unit number M55987, finished in BR green with a late crest and fitted with speed whiskers and Midland style fronts. The model is supplied ready for digital command control, with a 21‑pin socket, and uses NEM couplings. Power is collected from all wheels and the minimum curve radius is the standard 2nd radius of 438 mm.
The prototype was built by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company between 1959 and 1960, with a total production run of ten units. It operated for British Railways, carried a maximum speed of 70 mph and was allocated the period represented by the early British Rail crest.
Heljan’s product carries manufacturer part number 8990, is described as being in pristine condition, and is suitable for use on OO gauge layouts.
