Prototype Era
Era 7 (1972 to 1982) British Rail Blue (TOPS)
These German-built railbuses were delivered in April 1958 and initially operated on the Maldon, Braintree, and Saffron Walden lines. The last working example was withdrawn from service in August 1967 and four survived into preservation. This model is an improvement on the previous version first produced by Heljan in 2012.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

This model represents a Heljan Waggon & Maschinenbau (W&M) Diesel Railbus, specifically the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's No.64 in red livery. The model features a 21-pin socket for DCC control and is DCC ready. It has a minimum radius curve requirement of Radius 1 and power pickup on all wheels.
The model is built by Heljan and represents the Waggon und Maschinenbau Railbus class, with a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement. It was built by Waggon-und-Maschinenbau GmbH Donauwörth in 1958 and is modelled in the British Rail Blue period. The real-life railbuses were delivered in April 1958 and initially operated on the Maldon, Braintree, and Saffron Walden lines, with the last working example being withdrawn in August 1967.
The model features a range of details including a heavy-duty chassis, working interior lights, NEM couplings, and sprung buffers. It is an improvement on the previous version produced by Heljan in 2012.
