The Heljan Waggon & Maschinenbau (W&M) Diesel Railbus in BR Green livery with Speed Whiskers is a model of a German-built railbus. This particular model, E79963, is a DCC-ready model with an 8-pin socket and features a pristine finish. The model represents a Waggon and Maschinenbau Railbus, built by Waggon-und-Maschinenbau GmbH Donauwörth in 1958, and operated by British Railways.
The real-life railbuses were delivered in April 1958 and initially ran on the Maldon, Braintree, and Saffron Walden lines. The last working example was withdrawn from service in August 1967, but four examples survived into preservation. This model is an updated version of a previous release by Heljan, produced in 2012.
The model features a range of detailed components, including a 21-pin DCC interface, all-wheel drive, a heavy-duty chassis, working interior lights, NEM couplings, and sprung buffers. The specifications for the model include a class of Waggon and Maschinenbau Railbus, operator BR, livery in Green with Speed Whiskers, running number E79963, wheel configuration 0-6-0, and a pristine paint finish.
