Manufacturer description

The majority of these tank wagons were built between 1939 and 1944 as Class A wagons for aviation fuel, being 17ft-6inch long on a 10ft wheelbase fitted with RCH either side braking and split oil axle boxes. The tank was 7ft-2inch diameter containing 4275 gallons saddle mounted with two small platforms on the top of the tank. After the war and around 1947, surplus tank wagons were converted to Class B fitted with heating coils to help discharge of viscous fuel and bottom discharge. All Class A tanks had gone out of service by 1971 with the last B Class tank following in 1973.

The Dapol 14T Tank Wagon Class A Regent is a model of a British railway wagon. It represents a Regent-liveried Class A tank wagon, with a running number of 101. The model is designed to operate on a minimum radius of 1 metre.

The real-life wagons were built by the Air Ministry between 1939 and 1944, with a total of 4275 gallons of fuel capacity. They were used to transport aviation fuel and featured RCH braking and split oil axle boxes. After the war, some wagons were converted to Class B status, fitted with heating coils and bottom discharge.

The model features a highly detailed and accurate body shell and chassis, as well as finely profiled wheels and a full sprung chassis. It also includes NEM coupling and separately added fine details such as platforms and ladders. The livery has been superbly applied.

The model represents the British Railways Early Crest period, which dates back to the early days of British Railways.
