The HIA limestone hopper was designed for the haulage of limestone, stone, and sand. It was introduced in 2005 for exclusive operation by Freightliner Heavy Haul Limited. 122 HIA limestone hoppers were manufactured by Wagony Swidinica in Poland. The HIA limestone hopper was 14 metres long with a maximum carrying capacity of 90 tonnes. The wagons worked all over England, typically transporting limestone from Derbyshire (Dowlow) to Yorkshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lancashire.

HIA Limestone Hopper (Late Build) Freightliner Green 369060
The Dapol HIA Freightliner Green Limestone Hopper 369083 is a model railway wagon designed for the OO gauge scale. It represents a later build of the HIA limestone hopper wagons, which were used for transporting limestone, stone, and sand.
The HIA limestone hopper wagons were introduced in 2005 for exclusive operation by Freightliner Heavy Haul Limited. They were manufactured by Wagony Swidnica in Poland and had a maximum carrying capacity of 90 tonnes. The wagons were used to transport limestone from various locations across England, including Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, and Lancashire.
The Dapol model features a finely moulded body with many separately added details, including profiled wheels and NEM pockets with self-centring couplings. The livery is accurately printed and the finish is described as pristine. The model is designed for use on curves with a minimum radius of 1:87 scale metre.
Key specifications for the model include a running number of 369083, a length of 180mm over the buffers, and the use of NEM couplings. The model is suitable for use with the OO gauge scale and is designed to represent the Freightliner Heavy Haul operator during the initial privatisation period.
