The HIA limestone hopper was designed for the haulage of limestone, stone, and sand. It was introduced in 2005 for exclusive operation by Freightliner Heavy Haul Limited. 122 HIA limestone hoppers were manufactured by Wagony Swidinica in Poland. The HIA limestone hopper was 14 metres long with a maximum carrying capacity of 90 tonnes. The wagons worked all over England, typically transporting limestone from Derbyshire (Dowlow) to Yorkshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lancashire.

Dapol has released a model of a Freightliner PLC liveried HIA Freightliner Green Limestone Hopper wagon, numbered 369060. This model represents a later build of the wagon.

The model features a finely moulded body with many separately added details, and has been produced using new tooling to accurately portray the later wagon builds. The livery has been applied with a high level of detail and accuracy, including precisely printed markings.

The model has a length of 180mm and is designed to operate on minimum radius curves of 1. It is fitted with NEM couplings and features self-centring NEM pockets. The wheels are profiled to give a realistic appearance.
