Manufacturer description

The HIA limestone hopper was designed for the haulage of limestone, stone and sand and was introduced in 2005 for exclusive operation by Freightliner Heavy Haul Limited. 122 HIA limestone hoppers were manufactured by Wagony Swidinica in Poland of which 95 operated in the Heavy Haul green livery and 27 in the white.

The HIA limestone hopper was 14 metres long with a maximum carrying capacity of 90 tonnes. The wagons worked all over England, typically transporting limestone from Derbyshire (Dowlow) to Yorkshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lancashire.

This model of the HIA Freightliner wagon share all the same characteristics as the prototype with all the applied details, profiled wheels and accurately applied livery details and artwork.

Dapol HIA Freightliner Green Heavy Haul Limestone Hopper (model 369007) is a 1/87 scale representation of a Freightliner Heavy Haul Limited wagon that was introduced in 2005 during the initial privatisation era. The prototype was a 14‑metre hopper used for the transport of limestone, stone and sand, with a maximum payload of 90 tonnes, and operated across England from Derbyshire to destinations such as Yorkshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lancashire.

The model reproduces the green Freightliner livery, NEM/Tension‑lock couplings with self‑centring pockets, profiled wheels and fine moulded body details. It is suitable for Era 9‑10 operation and measures 180 mm in length.

The original wagons were built by Wagony Swidinica in Poland, with 122 units produced; 95 carried the green Heavy Haul livery and 27 were supplied in white. The Dapol version carries the manufacturer part number 4F‑026‑020.
