Class 29 D6107 BR Blue, Headcode Box (Full Yellow End) Diesel Locomotive DCC Sound
The Dapol OO gauge model represents British Rail Class 29 locomotive number D6129 in its original BR Blue livery. The model is finished in a pristine condition and is fitted with DCC sound equipment. It is built to a 2‑mm scale (OO gauge) and is suitable for use on layouts with a minimum curve radius of 2 inches.
Key specifications include a Bo‑Bo wheel arrangement, all‑wheel power pickup, NEM/tension‑lock couplings and a maximum speed of 80 mph in operation. The locomotive is powered by a 5‑pole SuperCreep motor with twin brass flywheels, providing smooth and controlled pulling power, and it features independent directional and cab lighting. The model is DCC ready with a provision for an MTC 21‑pin socket and comes with an accessory bag containing optional fitted components.
The prototype locomotives were built by the North British Locomotive Co. between 1963 and 1967, with a total production run of 20 units for British Rail. They were rebuilt from the earlier Class 21 diesel‑hydraulic units and operated in the British Rail Blue (pre‑TOPS) era before withdrawal in the early 1970s.
