Motorised version
The Dapol water tower brings a little fun back into the hobby. Dapol have provided a realistic series of sounds and a selection of voiceover comments, several of which involve the driver berating his fireman for mucking it all up.
The highly detailed exterior of the model will not look out of place on any discerning modellers layout, with a non-motorised version available for the traditional modeller. The sound effects and animation however bring a little audible and visual stimulation to a locomotive servicing area that will entertain adults and children alike. The sound effects can be turned off for those times when you just want to relax and run some trains around your layout in peace and quiet.

Dapol GWR Water Tower (Flat Top) Grey – Motorised with sounds
The model represents a Great Western Railway water tower in the GWR grey livery, part number 4A‑002‑008, and depicts the period of the Big Four railway companies. It is an OO scale, motorised version that can be operated on 12 V DC/AC or DCC, with a remote switch and optional relay PCB for DCC control. The fill pipe rotates 900°, and the tower includes etched parts, a water valve, positioning chains, a drain grill, a tether post and a frost‑prevention heater.
Sound effects feature realistic water‑fill noises and a selection of voice‑over comments, such as driver remarks during overflow and completion of the fill. The audio can be switched off when quiet operation is desired.
A flexible delivery pipe can be trimmed to suit the layout, and optional power and switch extension cables are available. A non‑motorised version is also supplied for traditional modelers.
