Prototype Era
Era 3 (1923 to 1947) The Big Four (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR)
The Dapol water tower brings a little fun back into the hobby. Dapol have provided a realistic series of sounds and a selection of voiceover comments, several of which involve the driver berating his fireman for mucking it all up.
The highly detailed exterior of the model will not look out of place on any discerning modellers layout, with a non-motorised version available for the traditional modeller. The sound effects and animation however bring a little audible and visual stimulation to a locomotive servicing area that will entertain adults and children alike. The sound effects can be turned off for those times when you just want to relax and run some trains around your layout in peace and quiet.

GWR Water Tower (Flat Top) Grey - Motorised with sounds
The Dapol GWR Water Tower model features a conical top and is available in GWR chocolate and cream livery. It represents the Big Four period, which spanned from the grouping of the railways in 1923 to the nationalisation of the railways in 1948. The model is available in both motorised and non-motorised versions.
The motorised version of the model comes with a range of realistic sound effects and voiceover comments, adding an extra layer of realism to a locomotive servicing area. The sound effects can be turned off for those who prefer a quieter operating experience. The model features a highly detailed exterior, complete with etched parts, a water valve, positioning chains, a drain grill, and a tether post.
The operating and electrical features of the model include 12v DC/AC or DCC operation, remote switch actuation, and an optional relay PCB for DCC control. The model also features a fill pipe that rotates 900 degrees with sound effects. The sound effects include normal fill or overflow sounds, as well as random speech comments that can be triggered by the model's operating sequence.
One of the unique features of this model is the range of speech comments that can be heard, including humorous remarks and warnings. These comments add a touch of personality to the model and can help to create a more immersive experience for modellers. The model is an OO gauge operating model, making it suitable for use on most standard gauge model railways.
