Accurascale has released a range of OO gauge BR 24.5T HOP24/HUO coal hoppers in BR grey livery. These models are designed to represent the British Railways late crest era.

The models are built to a high standard, with a minimum radius curve of Radius 1 and NEM/Tension lock couplings. Each wagon features a 4-wheel wheel arrangement and metal 3-hole disc wagon wheels on metal axles.

The models are available in a three wagon pack, each with individual numbers and decoration. The pack includes wagons B336514, B333955, and B334282.

These models are based on the real-life British Railways 24.5-ton HOP24/HUO hopper wagons, which were introduced between 1954 and 1965. A total of 5,263 of these wagons were built for British Railways, with 11 batches constructed at the Shildon wagon works and one batch built by Pressed Steel.

The real wagons were tasked with hauling coal and coke from collieries and coke plants to power stations and ports throughout Great Britain, and ran from 1954 to 1987. They were eventually displaced by modern 'Merry-go-Round' (MGR) coal hoppers.
