Accurascale has released a range of OO gauge British Rail 24.5-ton HOP24/HUO coal hoppers in BR grey livery. The models are built to a high standard, with a pristine finish and detailed features such as metal wheels and factory-fitted detail parts. The wagons are designed for tight curves, with a minimum radius of one inch and NEM standard coupler pockets.

A pack of three wagons is available, each with individual numbers and decoration. The models are accurately represented in the BR Late Crest period, with the correct livery and lettering. The wagons were built by British Rail between 1954 and 1963, with a total of 5,263 being constructed in 12 separate batches.

The real-life wagons were introduced in 1954, tasked with hauling coal and coke from collieries and coke plants to power stations and ports. They were built at Shildon wagon works, with the last batch constructed by Pressed Steel. The wagons ran until 1987, with many surviving into private use in collieries and power plants.
